Jollibee experience update

Hmmm...I've talked to Jollibee area manager on the evening of Wednesday, February 06, 2008 and she apologized and heard my side of the story. She also told me that she had a brief conversation with the branch manager Jollibee (Emerald ave, Ortigas) and never mentioned anything about what she promised nor the thing about I need to come with them for a check up whether I like it or not. The area manager said she will take care of it and will get back to me today ( I was on leave until yesterday). Oh well...let me wait if something will going to happen today.

Last Nov. 17, 2007 at approximately 4 pm, my wife, son and I attended a birthday party at Jollibee Philcoa in QC for my wife's niece who just turned 7 years old that day. It was not a "party" in the strictest sense because the family did not avail of the Jollibee party package, but more of a "treat" inside the Jollibee store by the celebrant's parents, who are both government employees. Due to budget constraints, they just held a simple treat for a few select family and friends to celebrate their daughter's 7th birthday.

As a special favor, the parents of the celebrant asked me to take videos and make an MTV for them that will be sent to the celebrant's lolo and lola and relatives in the province. It was all going well, right until a store personnel, a certain "Joyce", approached me accompanied by a security guard and asked me why I was taking a video of the counter area (earlier when we were paying) and different areas of the store (lobby, dining area and facade). I replied it was for an "MTV" I will make because it's my niece's 7th birthday and she was having a small party inside the store. She then informed me that I need special permission from the Jollibee head office to take videos of certain areas of the store such as the counter area. I was surprised by the admonishment, and felt pity for my 7-year-old niece and her parents who were just staring at us. I did not want to cause a scene, so I just closed my video camera and Joyce and the guard went away. Later though, when we were finished eating, I approached Joyce near the counter area because I wanted to clarify exactly what is Jollibee's policy on taking videos inside the store. In fairness to Joyce, she was nice to me and never raised her voice or said anything demeaning. She explained the policy that no video recordings are allowed in certain areas of the store without permission from the head office.

I told her why does Jollibee invite families to have a good time at their store in their TV commercials but deprives them the freedom to take videos of areas that are open to the public within the store, including the counter area, which are all part of the experience and therefore should be included in the video. What harm could it possibly do when the counter area is well within public viewing, for everyone to see? What are they hiding that makes this area so sensitive? I don't need a video camera if I intended to do anything harmful, I'll just stand there and observe whatever it is I need to observe. This reeks of "overkill" Jollibee.

And to add insult to injury, "Joyce" was accompanied by a security guard while talking to us, making the other customers look at us, to my and my family's eternal embarrassment.

I suggested that if they require customers to ask permission first before taking any videos, they should post signs inside the store to avoid any confusion and embarrassment.

Even before this happened, I already had a low regard for Jollibee because I think their food products are overpriced, unhealthy, not to mention inferior in taste. But now, after this incident, I have to say, Jollibee has hit the bottom. In my mind, they can't go any lower than this. SHAME ON YOU JOLLIBEE FOR RUINING A 7-YEAR-OLD CHILD'S BIRTHDAY PARTY.

That was rude because of the security guard thing. You should have asked Joyce why the need for the security guard...because somewhat you looked like a convict of some sort in that situation.

Thanks for sharing.

Congo Grill sucks! I heard from my friend that the current owner scammed his original partners. Forcing them out and keeping the business all to himself. What kind of person does this ? Greedy indeed ! Boycott Congo Grill !

guys let me share my story..sunday, july 12 around 4pm in palmera spring, we are driving an owner type jeep, my husband was fixing the side mirror when a delivery rider of jollibee zabarte get close to the driver seat and told to my husband "ang sama mong makatingin ah, anong problema mo?" we we're both shock since we are not aware that my husband who was just fixing the side mirror look at him that way. we we're both speechless..how could jollibee hired an employee with an attitude like this guy?imagine your employee wearing his jollibee uniform approaching one of your potential customer (actually hindi lang potential coz honestly we always eat in jollibee)..is this the way you trained your crews?

we called the manager but we didn't even get an apology from her..the guy's name is martilando taladtad..

nakakalungkot lang kc during my college days, i also worked for a food chain so why would we do that sa isang crew diba? galing din ako dun kaya sobrang mabait ako sa mga crew kc i know the nature..

So pinamember namin yung baby namin. Dahil nagpa member daw kami, bibgyan nya kami ng free stickers, mga papel at kung ano ano pa at may card pang kasama, ipakita lang daw namin everytime makaka avail kami ng at least 150php. Then nung next na punta namin, naka more than 150php kami and pinresent namin yung card sa counter, binigyan kami ng free sundae lang, yung worth 12php. So tinanong ko kung nasan yung fries and pie, sabi nya hindi daw ganun yun, tapos tumingin sya sa isang guy na I think supervisor nila, parang pinapasa ako sa kanya. Tinanong kami nung guy, ano daw ang problem. So sinabi namin yung sinabi ng crew samin. So I told him, "Sir wag mo kong sabihan tungkol sa common sense dahil inoffer samin yun ng crew nyo.
